Group Home Program
Youth for Change Group Home Program is based upon an allegiance to
systemic family therapy and utilizes the training, experience and
skills of licensed therapists in collaboration with a team of
well-educated and trained staff in facilitating an intensive,
comprehensive and creative therapeutic program that is centered on the
healing of the whole child. The Youth for Change Group Home Program is
designed for boys ages 11-17 and girls ages 11-17, whose levels of
function at home, school or in the community warrant the intensive
intervention afforded by a residential program. Common emotional and
behavioral problems of youth served include: depression, anxiety,
physical and/or sexual abuse, anti-social behavior, unresolved grief
reaction, truancy, running away and family system's issues.
Youth for Change Group Home Staff embrace and support the belief that
youth can learn to better control his/her emotional and behavioral
responses in an environment that is highly structured while
simultaneously nurturing and accepting. A structured environment is
necessary until youth develop the necessary ego strength to exercise
internal controls that support safe, pro-social and healthy decision
making. A placement's success is supported through interactive
engagement in healthy relational exchanges with treatment staff in the
therapeutic milieu. Licensed clinicians provide adjunctive, individual,
group and family therapy which offer youth venues to learn and practice
relational skills to support higher levels of functioning at home,
school and in the community.
All Youth for Change Group Home Staff will be trained in the highly
Crisis Intervention Model
embraced by Youth for Change.
