National Runaway and Homeless Youth Prevention Month 2021
November is National Runaway and Homeless Youth Prevention Month. Through the 6th Street Center, Youth for Change helps runaway and homeless youth acquire skills, resources and opportunity. There are numerous opportunities throughout the month to show your support!

11/10: Wear Green Day!
Wear green in support of and to raise awareness homeless and runaway youth. Get a NRPM shirt from Pedal Press. Post your photos/videos on social media with the hashtags #endyouthhomelessnes #NRPM2021 and #isupport6thstreet
11/15: Shine a Light on Youth Homelessness
The week of the 15th we’ll be asking our partners and supporters to light their buildings and homes green to “shine a light on youth homelessness”!
11/17: Light the Night
We will be holding a candlelight vigil on November 17th - location and time to be announced soon.
11/19: Writing for Donuts Volume II Book Release Party
Writing for Donuts is a compilation of poems, short stories, songs and laments by the homeless youth of Butte County. Volume II is released this month with a party at the Museum of Northern California Art from 6-8pm. Purchase Writing for Donuts Volume I on Amazon
11/30: Giving Tuesday
Support 6th Street Center this Giving Tuesday through a donation, or by purchasing items from our Amazon Wish List directly!
Round Up at Chico Natural Foods!
Shop at Chico Natural Foods co-op throughout the month of November and ask to “round-up” your purchase to the nearest dollar; the extra change will go directly toward 6th Street Center’s efforts in our community!
