Father & Male Involvement Initiative
Decades of research confirms that affirmative father and male involvement has a profound and lasting impact on children—positively impacting academic performance, impulse control, social development, socio-economic status, and the capacity for empathy, to name a few.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 24 million children—1 out of 3—live without their biological father in the home. Engaging those fathers to participate constructively and consistently in their children’s lives is an area staff in the human and social service sectors continue to explore. To equip staff with the knowledge, skills, resources, and abilities needed to effective engage fathers and other positive male figures, The Strategies Center at Youth for Change™ launched the Father and Male Involvement Initiative offering a wide range of services to transform organizations and communities as they build father engagement and involvement strategies.
